Those are great ideas for topics, Conachair, thanks! Sonny loves bags of all kinds, so he’ll have a lot to say on the subject, I’m sure!
Congrats on the successful event – you did it right! There is not something to achieve or earn – just the satisfaction of accomplishing the challenge. The day-by-day instructions are intended to help someone who is new to hosting an event, but anyone can join the fun and the discussion.
Conachair: Oh what a bummer! Thanks for the great tip. We have also learned (the hard way) not to simply rely on iPhone access to do geocaching. If there is no cell coverage (and you haven’t saved them offline) you are out of luck!!
I used an old eTrex Vista for years and I love that one, I live about 10 minutes from Garmin World HQ and they kept it running for me for years. Now they don’t fix em anymore I went for an eTrex 20, very Mac friendly and my son loves the iPhone app for the satellite views. roog
How cool to live that close to Garmin World HQ?!?
I know it’s part of the ‘work in progress’ and y’all are probably already working on it; but I am unable to access the actual DOJO section, nor can I get to the ‘root’ folder of this posting. I happened upon this post and a few others under ‘recent posts’
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll email you directly with some links to try so we can sort out what is happening.
That sounds like an awesome trip, winstonsdad (and mom) and we look forward to seeing you guys again! We are also excited about getting 2 new states: Idaho and Montana, AND a new country – CANADA!! We’re announcing it here first. Our event in Vancouver is published! http://coord.info/GC60BZE
I think that’s a great idea – the “back to the first cache in the state or county” could be a whole series all over the US and around the world!
