Started out with an Garmin Oregon 450 (that I got through the Podcacher Amazon link), but something went wrong and it wouldn’t boot up for me (On the whole I was pleased with it, otherwise). Fortunately, I had gotten the dreaded protection plan along with it so I was able to get a refund. Bad news is that since I had originally bought the Oregon on sale, I was unable to replace the unit like-for-like. Good news is that after looking around, I found a good deal on a remanufactured Magellan Explorist 610 and am pretty happy with it – a lot more bang for the buck. A bit disappointed, though, that I was unable to continue with Garmin (they have a facility here in Salem, OR) not to mention that I was unable to continue with a product line named after my state!
